There are times during your whitewater rafting trip that the river itself will demand your full attention. Then there are other times when the scenery will take your breath away. The excitement and views are literally non-stop. Don’t be surprised to see rocks the size of small cars and maybe even moose that are nearly as big.
The eight-mile whitewater section of the Snake River that we ride offers a good amount of excitement for anyone who’s up for a little adventure. Whether you’re a seasoned whitewater veteran or a first-time rafter, you’ll find something you love. As a Class II-III section of water, the Snake River Canyon is equal parts beautiful scenery and big western whitewater fun. Your guide will share with you the tales of the legendary rapids, such as Big Kahuna, Lunch Counter, Cottonwood and Champagne. Some may not have been around long enough to remember the day Frank Ewing and company took on Thee Oar Deal, but they’re all sure to love our newest rapid, Double Draw. Formed by a landslide in the spring of 2011, Double D (as it’s affectionately referred to by the river community) has given a whole new identity to whitewater rafting the upper reaches of the Snake River Canyon.
