Snake River Whitewater Adventure
The Whitewater section in Jackson Hole, Wyoming is nestled deep within the Grand Canyon of the Snake River, considered the deepest gorge on the Snake River in Wyoming. Twenty five miles south of Jackson, it is the only whitewater section in the surrounding Jackson Hole area. Rafting through the magnificent Snake River Canyon provides a striking perspective of the valley and an exciting adventure full of rapids.
Our 8-mile Whitewater Adventure is full of excitement for people of all ages and experience. This Class II/III Whitewater trip takes you through the famous Lunch Counter and Big Kahuna rapids and offers fun for all! Watch for osprey and eagles fishing in between all the splashing.
The minimum age for children is six years old or approximately 45 pounds during peak season. However, brief periods of high water during the early season may increase the minimum age to upwards of eight to ten years old and require a more careful screening of all young participants. Safety is always our first priority. Please understand that our decision is in your child’s best interest. Most of the summer, the whitewater section provides plenty of bounce and splash for families with children as young as six. There is no upper age limit.
Complimentary splash jackets and pants for all sizes are available for the whitewater trip upon request. On cooler days, we also have wetsuits, fleece and river booties for rent if you prefer. Shoes that are secure on your feet (please no flip-flops) are required. You may rent these items when you check in for your trip departure. The trip is approximately four hours roundtrip from Jackson.
