What is the minimum age for this river trip?

Our minimum age for children to go whitewater rafting  is 6 years old (approximately 45 pounds) for most of the summer rafting season. However, high water levels during early season may increase the minimum age up to 8 – 10 years old and require a more careful screening of all young participants. Safety is always our first priority.

What is the best thing to wear on this river trip?

For the scenic float trip in the morning, wear warm layers. Pants and an extra upper body layer are recommended, it can be chilly in the morning. Shoes that are secure on your feet are required (please no flip-flops and no bare feet). There is a possibility that your shoes will get damp even on the scenic float, so wear shoes that you are comfortable getting wet for the entire combo. We will provide complimentary splash jackets and pants for the entire combo trip. Cameras and binoculars are welcome and are generally not at risk.

For the whitewater rafting part of the combo, wear a swimsuit or clothes that you don’t mind getting wet. Cotton is not recommended; synthetic fabrics such as nylon and polypropylene work the best because they dry quickly. For cool days, we have neoprene wetsuits, booties and fleece. You may rent these items when you check in for your rafting trip.

Bring a towel and/or dry clothing to change into at the end of your Jackson Hole combo trip, so you’re comfortable on the 45-minute return ride back to Jackson. There are Forest Service changing rooms for you to use at the landing. Sunglasses, hats and sunscreen are a good idea; cameras and binoculars are not recommended for the whitewater rafting portion of the trip.

For more details on what you should bring and what we provide, please read our FAQs and Facts.

Where is the Breakfast combo located exactly?

The scenic float trip begins 18 miles south of Jackson and meanders along the Snake River through beautiful mountain vistas in the upper Snake River Canyon. There are excellent bird viewing opportunities – eagles, osprey, blue heron, pelicans – while floating toward the rapids. Our exclusive riverside camp and breakfast spot borders Pine Creek and sits just uphill from the river. It is accessed by boat only, offering tranquility and privacy. The whitewater rafting section is in the Grand Canyon of the Snake River, considered the deepest gorge on the Snake River in Wyoming. It is the only whitewater rafting section in the surrounding Jackson Hole area.
