We take great pride in our staff! They are a key element to our continued success. Their continued loyalty, hard work and dedication will make your scenic or whitewater rafting trip with Barker-Ewing the best!
Our guides are seasoned river veterans, and their knowledge of the Snake River, the surrounding Jackson Hole valley, its history and the wildlife within will add to your experience and enhance your time on the river.
Dan Carter grew up in Central Indiana where he earned his Bachelors from Purdue University. In addition to guiding on the Snake River in Wyoming, Dan has guided trips on the Colorado and Green Rivers in Colorado and Utah. In 2004, he took summer off from Barker-Ewing and completed a three month solo canoe trip in Canada. Dan has been a long time trainer and racer of sled dogs in winter months and is a veteran racer of the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race in Alaska.
Al Brokofsky, after serving seven years in the Army, began guiding both summer and winter activities in the German Bavarian Alps. After twelve years abroad, Al returned to his home in the Pacific Northwest and began playing on the many rivers surrounding. Nowadays, you can find him in Jackson Hole balancing his spring and fall multi-day river trips with the day-to-day operations of Barker-Ewing.

Hunter Wood moved to Jackson Hole in 1995 shortly after completing his pre-med degree from the University of Colorado. He joined us in 1997 and still finds time between summers on the rivers and winters on the snow to pursue his academic career in the medical field. He is truly one of the gifted "steep and deep" skiers in Jackson Hole. His on-water experience includes the Poudre and Platte, Cataract Canyon of the Colorado, Main Salmon, Gros Ventre, Hoback and the Snake Rivers.
Jeremy Minor first came to Jackson Hole in 1997 for a visit while completing his B.A. in history and political science from the University of North Carolina, Charlotte. Upon his graduation in 1998, Jeremy moved out West settling in Jackson in 2001. Jeremy has been with us for seven years and counting. His river experience includes the Gauley, Main Salmon, Green River, as well as many rivers in South East Asia. He is a avid biker, hiker and snowboarder.
