Barker-Ewing Raft Trips in Jackson HoleSince 1963, the Ewing family has been offering guided river trips on the Snake River in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.  Since their initial partnership with Dick and Barbara Barker from 1967-1984, the Ewings have continued to provide an unparalleled standard of excellence widely respected within the outfitting industry.  For more than 45 years, the Ewings have been providing safe, exciting river adventures on the Snake River for more than one million clients.

Frank and Patty Ewing first began guiding scenic sections of the Snake River in 1955.  As seasons passed, they decided they would start their own company doing just what they loved. Their passion for the valley, the river and all that shape it continues to provide the backbone for Barker-Ewing River Trips.

Heather Ewing, with an enviable resume of river experience from Alaska to Costa Rica, now guides the family outfitting business in the new millennium.

Dan Carter grew up in Central Indiana where he earned his Bachelors from Purdue University. In addition to guiding on the Snake River in Wyoming, Dan has guided trips on the Colorado and Green Rivers in Colorado and Utah. In 2004, he took summer off from Barker-Ewing and completed a three month solo canoe trip in Canada. Dan has been a long time trainer and racer of sled dogs in winter months and is a veteran racer of the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race in Alaska.

Al Brokofsky, after serving seven years in the Army, began guiding both summer and winter activities in the German Bavarian Alps. After twelve years abroad, Al returned to his home in the Pacific Northwest and began playing on the many rivers surrounding. Nowadays, you can find him in Jackson Hole balancing his spring and fall multi-day river trips with the day-to-day operations of Barker-Ewing.

Hunter Wood moved to Jackson Hole in 1995 shortly after completing his pre-med degree from the University of Colorado. He joined us in 1997 and still finds time between summers on the rivers and winters on the snow to pursue his academic career in the medical field. He is truly one of the gifted "steep and deep" skiers in Jackson Hole. His on-water experience includes the Poudre and Platte, Cataract Canyon of the Colorado, Main Salmon, Gros Ventre, Hoback and the Snake Rivers.

Jeremy Minor first came to Jackson Hole in 1997 for a visit while completing his B.A. in history and political science from the University of North Carolina, Charlotte.
