Overview

Our 16-mile Scenic & Whitewater Breakfast Combo is the perfect trip to get the best of both worlds!  You begin early morning with a calm 8-mile scenic float in the upper reaches of the Snake River Canyon. As you head deeper into the Grand Canyon of the Snake River, you’ll stop at our exclusive camp along the riverside and enjoy a hot, tasty breakfast. After breakfast, you meet up with our bus to drop off what you want to stay dry and change into what you want to get wet.  The 8-mile whitewater stretch will be sure to drench you as you hit the famous Lunch Counter and Big Kahuna rapids! Breakfast

Enjoy our famous wild rice pancakes, sizzling sausage, scrambled eggs and fresh fruit.  Wash it all down with cowboy coffee, hot cocoa or tea and orange juice.

Age Requirement

Our minimum age for children is 6 years old (approximately 45 pounds) for most of the summer season.  However, high water levels during early season may increase the minimum age up to 8 - 10 years old and require a more careful screening of all young participants.  Safety is always our first priority.

Clothing & Gear

For the scenic float in the morning, wear warm layers. Pants and an extra upper body layer are recommended. We will provide complimentary splash jackets and pants for the entire combo trip.  Cameras and binoculars are welcome and generally not at risk.

For the whitewater stretch, wear a swimsuit or clothes that you don’t mind getting wet. Cotton is not recommended; synthetic fabrics such as nylon and polypropylene work the best because they dry quickly.  For cool days, we have neoprene wetsuits, booties and fleece. You may rent these items when you check in for your trip.  Shoes that are secure on your feet are required (please no flip-flops).

Bring a towel and/or dry clothing to change into at the end of your whitewater trip, so you’re comfortable on the 40-minute return ride back to Jackson. There are Forest Service changing rooms for you to use at the landing. Sunglasses, hats and sunscreen are a good idea; cameras and binoculars are not recommended.

Geography

The scenic float begins 18 miles south of Jackson and meanders along the Snake River through beautiful mountain vistas in the upper reaches of the Snake River Canyon. There are excellent bird viewing opportunities - eagles, osprey, blue heron, pelicans – while floating south toward the rapids. Our exclusive riverside camp and breakfast spot borders Pine Creek and sits just uphill from the river. It is accessed by boat only, offering tranquility and privacy.  The whitewater section is nestled deep within the Grand Canyon of the Snake River, which is considered the deepest gorge on the Snake in Wyoming.  It is the Snake’s only whitewater section in the surrounding Jackson Hole area. Rafting through the picturesque Snake River Canyon offers a unique perspective of the valley and exciting rapids round every turn.
